How to catch more fish

First of all, fishing is mostly luck and you can’t ever have a 100% chance of catching all the fish constantly even the most experienced anglers don’t catch much on some days and it isn’t completely their fault. But what you can do is higher the chance of catching. So don’t read this and leave thinking you will catch loads instantly because you won’t.

Time of day

The time of day can massively affect how many bites you get. The best times to fish is morning or evening when the sun is rising or setting the fish like low light because they feel less threatened by predators. but if you’re going to fish during the day try to cast into spots with shadows under trees but try not to get caught in the trees or shrubbery

Polarised glasses

Polarised glasses will protect your eyes and will reduce glare from the water and allow you to see through the water easier and even see the fish you want to catch.

Choose the best spot

You can find some really good fishing spots by looking online at local forums and association websites. But in my experience, the best way is to get talking to people fishing down your local river and just try loads of different spots every time and after a while, you will find some spots that work well for you.

Pick the right colour bait

Scientifically colours shouldn’t affect if a fish bites but you should usually go by the rule that in dark murky water you should use bright bait because the fish would be able to see it better and in less murky water it doesn’t exactly matter. But you can just try different colours and see which one gets more bites and use that colour.

Use a stopwatch

Using a stopwatch can help you find patterns in the bites. So start by doing 10-minute casts and if you don’t get any do 20-minute casts. When you start to get bites take a note of how long it is between each bite which will make you a little bit more efficient instead of casting randomly.

I'm from England and I enjoy fishing a lot. I spend a lot of my spare time fishing and looking deeper into it I have quite a lot of knowledge in this subject
